Ho K. Nieh, chair of the US Nuclear Regulatory Committee, said the agency has taken “major steps” to reform its framework for licensing nuclear plants and conducting regulatory checks. according to Bloomberg, Nieh said the NRC remains a “strong regulator” and declined to say which regulations are under review as the Trump administration looks to expand nuclear energy projects in the US.
