Kaspersky reported that some Steam Workshop wallpaper downloads contained malware capable of stealing cryptocurrency wallet data and installing crypto miners. According to NS3.AI, the infected wallpaper packages had accumulated thousands to tens of thousands of downloads.
The report said Steam has removed the identified malicious packages.
