Dazhong Transportation said it is conducting an autonomous taxi demonstration operation with Baidu’s Apollo Go in Shanghai’s Pudong New Area, with five driverless robotaxis in service.
According to Jin10, the company also said that 38 vehicles with safety drivers are operating in Shanghai’s Jiading District as part of the pilot.
Dazhong Transportation said intelligent connected vehicles remain in an experimental stage and currently generate little to no revenue for the company. It added that the future direction of the business remains uncertain and is not expected to have a material impact on its operating activities in the short term.
