European Union parliamentary elections will begin on June 6 and results will be announced on June 9. The vote is underway and the European Union's crypto rules, MiCA, are about to come into force. The new parliament will not call for changes to MiCA in the near future, but it has the power to ask the European Union Commission for a report on whether changes are needed. Robert Kopitsch, secretary general of the European Blockchain, said that although the vote comes as the European Union's landmark Crypto Asset Markets (MiCA) legislation begins to take effect, it is unlikely that the new legislators will make any immediate changes. He cited the current stablecoin rules as an example, which will come into force on June 30.
