Metaplanet agreed to acquire 100% of Siiibo Securities for 2.1 billion yen, with the share transfer scheduled for July 13. According to NS3.AI, the company expects the unit to become a wholly owned subsidiary later in August.
Metaplanet said it held 40,177 BTC as of May 31 and plans to use the acquisition to support the development of Bitcoin-linked financial products in Japan.
