A consumer has filed a new lawsuit seeking compensation for users of Anthropic’s highest-tier subscription plans, alleging the company overstated the usage allowances provided.

According to Odaily, the suit claims Anthropic misled consumers about usage limits for its Max 5x and Max 20x subscription plans.

The complaint cites pricing for Claude subscriptions aimed at individual users, stating the Pro plan costs $17 to $20 per month, while Max 5x costs $100 per month and Max 20x costs $200 per month.

The lawsuit alleges Anthropic marketed Max 5x and Max 20x as offering five times and 20 times the usage of the Pro plan, respectively, but that actual allowances are difficult to determine and appear to be far below what was advertised.

The plaintiff is seeking class-action status on behalf of users who purchased the plans since April of last year.
