Japan’s Nikkei crossed 69,700 for the first time, hitting an intraday high of 69,705 on Monday and rising more than 5% as a US-Iran agreement to end their war sparked a broader rally. According to BeInCrypto, the benchmark added roughly $465 billion, or 77.22 trillion yen, in market value and was at 69,234 at press time. President Donald Trump said the deal would halt the US naval blockade of Iran and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, with the agreement to be signed in Switzerland on Friday; WTI fell about 4.6% and Brent about 5%. The Bank of Japan is widely expected to raise its policy rate to 1% from 0.75% on Tuesday.
