Siemens Energy AG sent a person to drive from Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea port of Jeddah to the industrial hub of Dammam to assess an alternative route if the Strait of Hormuz were shut down. In the wake of the 12-day US-Israel and Iran war a year ago, according to Bloomberg, the trip was aimed at contingency planning for potential disruption to the crucial shipping chokepoint.
