Asian stock markets with heavy technology weightings, including South Korea and Japan, rose sharply in early trading on Monday.
According to Jin10, Julius Baer analyst Richard Tang said a U.S.-Iran peace agreement would benefit Asian equities, arguing that the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz would be a major positive because most Asian economies are net oil importers.
Tang added that if a potential decline in oil prices led to fewer interest-rate hikes, the development could add momentum to artificial intelligence stocks and the broader technology sector.
He also said India’s market could rebound as concerns about oil prices potentially ease and other drivers gradually improve.
