ERC-8126 has been released, according to a post by DonJohnson, head of business development at Virtuals Protocol.
According to Foresight News, DonJohnson said the proposal was co-authored by Leigh Cronian, Chris Johnson, and others, with Virtuals Protocol contributing to its development.
He said ERC-8126 is intended to form a three-layer infrastructure for an AI agent economy together with ERC-8004, focused on identity, and ERC-8183, focused on commerce.
Based on the ERC-8004 agent registration standard, ERC-8126 introduces a standardized verification framework for AI agents. The framework covers five verification categories: Ethereum token verification, media content verification, Solidity code verification, web application verification, and wallet verification.
Each verification returns a risk score from 0 to 100 and assigns one of five risk levels ranging from low risk to severe.
The proposal also supports privacy-preserving verification through zero-knowledge proofs and includes an optional extension interface reserved for quantum cryptography verification.
