Brazil's Superior Court of Justice (STJ) rejected a habeas corpus request filed by Mirelis Yoseline Diaz Zerpa in a case in which prosecutors cited significant cryptocurrency-related transactions.
According to NS3.AI, Brazil's Federal Public Ministry (MPF) identified about 20 million reais in crypto asset movement connected to the case.
Diaz Zerpa's lawyers argued that her detention was unlawful because her vegan dietary needs were not being met. The court ruled that dietary preferences do not, by themselves, make a detention illegal.
