The U.S. government ordered Anthropic on Friday to suspend access to two Claude models for all foreign nationals under an emergency export control directive. According to NS3.AI, the directive required Anthropic to disable the models across its entire customer base to ensure compliance.
Anthropic disputed the government’s finding, saying officials provided only verbal evidence of a potential jailbreak that it described as narrow and not universal.
David Sacks said the administration asked Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei to fix the jailbreak or de-deploy Fable.
