The U.S. Commerce Department has signed letters of intent to award just over $2 billion to nine quantum computing companies.
According to NS3.AI, IBM is set to receive $1 billion to support a quantum-grade superconducting wafer foundry.
GlobalFoundries is set to receive $375 million for a multi-architecture fabrication facility.
The remaining $636 million is allocated across seven quantum computer builders.
