Israeli sources said Israel is pressuring the United States to prevent the unfreezing of Iranian assets from being included as part of a ceasefire agreement. According to Odaily, CNN reported the sources as saying Israel is seeking U.S. action to stop the measure.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has maintained regular communication with U.S. President Donald Trump, including a phone call on Thursday evening, the report said.
Trump previously said Israel was among several countries in the Middle East that supported the agreement. Netanyahu later said in a statement that Trump promised a final agreement would include removing Iran’s enriched uranium, dismantling its nuclear program, limiting its missile development, and ending its support for proxies.
Trump’s public comments have focused on enriched uranium, and he has not mentioned missiles or proxy issues for several weeks, according to the report.
The Israeli sources said Israel believes that even if the United States and Iran sign a memorandum of understanding, a final agreement will not ultimately be reached.
