A Swiss vote to cap the population at 10 million inhabitants could severely impact labor-intensive sectors such as restaurants, construction and healthcare, Rudolf Minsch, chief economist at Swiss business umbrella group Economiesuisse, said. According to Bloomberg, Minsch said innovative areas including scientific research and product development could also be affected because they depend heavily on foreign workers.
