Iran has not made any commitment to transfer management rights of the Strait of Hormuz under a memorandum of understanding with the United States, Iran’s Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reported.
According to Odaily, the future management of the strait will be handled as a regional matter through dialogue and joint decision-making between Iran and Oman.
IRNA said the current memorandum includes no agreement on nuclear issues. It added that nuclear negotiations will take place within 60 days after an agreement is signed.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the framework text is close to being finalized, but still awaits a final decision.
