The US became India’s largest supplier of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in May as disruptions hit the Strait of Hormuz. According to BeInCrypto, Washington shipped 630,000 tonnes of LPG to India in May, about 60% above the 380,000 tonnes India received from all Gulf countries combined, while US LNG exports reached 900,000 tonnes, covering more than 40% of demand and tripling April’s level. India relied on Hormuz for about 60% of LNG imports and nearly all LPG supplies; Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said India has 76 to 80 days of fuel reserves.
