A signing ceremony for a U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding is most likely to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, three people familiar with the matter said. According to Odaily, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday what he described as a “great reconciliation plan” aimed at ending the war against Iran and said it would be finalized within days.

Trump said the signing ceremony was expected to take place soon in Europe and that Vice President JD Vance would attend. Iranian officials have not confirmed that any agreement has been reached.

Two sources familiar with the diplomatic talks said Geneva was chosen because it is not far from where Trump and the U.S. delegation are scheduled to attend the G7 summit in France next week. One of the sources said the ceremony would mark the start of a “second phase” of diplomatic negotiations, during which parties would work on implementing the memorandum.

Several sources said the memorandum is named the “Islamabad Declaration” to recognize Pakistan’s role in mediation, though details have not been finalized. One Iranian source said Vienna, Austria, is also being considered as an alternative location.
