VPEC raised prices for epiwafers on today, according to a social media post by Serenity.
According to Odaily, Serenity said the price increase indicates growing supply chain bottlenecks in the epiwafer segment and may further strengthen pricing power and demand expectations for related companies.
Serenity described the move as a positive signal for epiwafer suppliers IQE and LandMark Optoelectronics, saying it reflects tighter conditions around epiwafer capacity and demand.
Serenity also said they hold a position related to IQE.
The post noted that MACOM Technology Solutions previously invested in IQE to secure capacity supply, and said the latest price change further underscores the importance of certain key supply chain links as bottleneck resources.
