A trader identified as “smart money” bought more than $500,000 worth of positions on Polymarket predicting the United States will not defeat Paraguay in a “2026 World Cup Group Stage Group D Round 1” event.
According to Odaily, the trader’s address was 0x38f0b76ed812c24166a4f6293f991ac4b9972768, with an average entry price of 51.2 cents and an unrealized profit of $12,600.
The report said the position was placed when the implied probability was above 51%.
Odaily noted that the U.S. team has home-field advantage and previously beat Paraguay in a friendly match in November 2025.
It added that Paraguay returned to the World Cup after 16 years under head coach Gustavo Alfaro and is known for a solid defense and set-piece threat.
On injuries, Odaily said Paraguay’s key player Julio Enciso is questionable due to a muscle issue, while U.S. defender Chris Richards has been confirmed available.
