Bitcoin Core has issued a security advisory confirming a privacy vulnerability in the -privatebroadcast feature introduced in version 31.0, which could expose a transaction originator’s IP address to receiving nodes under certain network conditions.
According to Foresight News, the issue may occur when a node uses Tor for outbound connections while also allowing direct IPv4/IPv6 connections and does not disable BIP324 v2 transport.
The project said it has prepared a fix and plans to release a patch in Bitcoin Core version 31.1.
