Representative Greg Landsman, an Ohio Democrat, said the lapse of a law permitting foreign surveillance will make it harder for law enforcement to keep the country safe. According to Bloomberg, Landsman said that during the World Cup and the ongoing conflict with Iran, concerns about US safety are “very serious,” and he urged someone in the intelligence community or Congress to “be the adult in the room.”
