Poland’s President Karol Nawrocki said on Thursday that he has vetoed for a third time a bill intended to regulate cryptocurrencies and implement European Union rules, citing the bill’s failure to incorporate his earlier objections. According to Odaily, Polish lawmakers passed the crypto regulation bill in May, and it was designed to implement the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation, which Poland must approve before July.
Nawrocki has previously vetoed related bills twice. He said he supports regulating the sector and protecting consumers, but that the government ignored most proposals prepared by his office. He added that he would sign the bill into law if it were amended.
