UK Energy Regulator Flags Data Centers Reserving Grid Capacity Years Early

The UK’s energy regulator said it is concerned that data centers are reserving large amounts of electricity grid capacity years before they fully need it. In doing so, according to Bloomberg, the regulator warned the practice could further undermine network efficiency as grids face long queues for new power supply.
