The Stellar Development Foundation has announced a quantum-safety plan to migrate all XLM accounts to a quantum-resistant signature scheme by the end of 2027, while keeping existing addresses and on-chain transaction history unchanged.
According to Foresight News, the plan was reported by CoinDesk.
The foundation said the migration will be carried out through a protocol-layer update to address the potential risk that future quantum computing could break current cryptographic signature algorithms. It added that users will not need to change their addresses or rebuild transaction records during the transition.
