Hong Kong Targets Raising Gold Reserves to Over 2,000 Tonnes Within Three Years

Hong Kong’s Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui said at a Legislative Council meeting that the government aims to raise Hong Kong’s gold reserves to more than 2,000 tonnes within three years. According to Ming Pao, the government plans to revitalize the spot gold market as a foundation to lift overall trading volume and build liquidity in gold derivatives.
