Strategy CEO Phong Le Says Bitcoin Sale Was a Flexibility Test, Not a Strategy Shift

Strategy CEO Phong Le said the company’s first Bitcoin sale since 2022 was intended as an “immunity” test for the market to demonstrate operational flexibility, rather than a reversal of its approach. According to PANews, Le made the remarks in an interview with CNBC.

Strategy sold 32 BTC between May 26 and 31. Le cited three reasons for the sale: to show the company can sell Bitcoin if necessary, to confirm internal systems can execute a sale properly, and to use different cost bases for tax-loss harvesting.

Le said the sale was not driven by financial pressure, adding that the company can meet preferred stock dividend obligations through other financing activities.
