Peter Tuchman, the longest-serving floor trader at the New York Stock Exchange, said disciplined retail day traders who follow rules could probably beat the S&P 500. In a new interview, according to BeInCrypto, the 40-year veteran who trades up to $1 billion in stock daily said commission-free apps helped create a “new generation of retail” that has become smart money after 80% to 90% of the first meme-stock wave blew up accounts. He cited US regulators scrapping the $25,000 pattern day trader minimum, allowing unlimited day trades for accounts as small as $2,000.
