MUFG Bank, Mizuho Bank, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. (SMBC) have agreed to issue a shared stablecoin before the end of fiscal year 2026. According to NS3.AI, the three banks plan to establish a governance council before live transactions begin.
The report noted that Japan’s fiscal year ends in March 2027.
