Xiaohongshu has officially released its Skill Upload Guidelines, setting out requirements for developers and content standards on the platform. According to Jin10, the rules encourage Skills that provide truthful and clear function descriptions, offer practical value, and demonstrate originality and innovation.
The guidelines also require developers to accurately disclose what permissions a Skill needs and how those permissions will be used, and to avoid requesting permissions beyond the stated functional scope. Xiaohongshu said code logic should be transparent and must not include hidden behaviors or backdoors, so users can achieve the expected results by following the provided instructions.
In addition, the platform said developers should respect others’ original work and must not copy or repost other creators’ Skills.
Xiaohongshu said it will continue building its ability to identify risks associated with Skills. Skills found to be in violation will be removed, and in serious cases the platform may restrict a developer’s ability to publish.
