Three Mississippi residents have filed a class-action lawsuit against Elon Musk’s SpaceX and its newly merged company xAI, alleging that a power plant supplying electricity to a data center has produced persistent noise that has disrupted local communities.
According to Jin10, court documents released on June 9 show the plaintiffs filed the case in a federal court in Mississippi on behalf of more than 10,000 people.
The lawsuit alleges the companies failed to take effective measures to curb excessive, ongoing noise from the power plant. The plaintiffs claim the noise has caused mental distress and financial losses, including declines in property values, and they are seeking compensation.
