ChatGPT goes down for 5 hours, Google chatbot searches surge

On June 4 local time, OpenAI's ChatGPT experienced a five-and-a-half-hour outage, leaving most users unavailable. During this period, searches for Gemini, a Google chatbot, surged, reflecting the growing attention that Gemini's status as an alternative may have received. During the ChatGPT outage, Google searches for Gemini skyrocketed to 372,000, compared with an average of 205,000 searches per day between May 4 and June 3, a surge of nearly 60%, according to software company QRFY.
