PGP founder Paul Brigner said the policy advocacy project PGP (Pretty Good Policy) is transitioning to PGPZ (Pretty Good Policy for Zcash). According to Foresight News, PGPZ will focus its advocacy on privacy-preserving digital cash, compliance practices, and Zcash’s role as a public-interest project.

Brigner said PGPZ aims to ensure Zcash has serious, organized, and credible representation in U.S. policymaking. He said policymakers are deciding whether privacy-preserving digital cash can legally exist and serve the public interest, and that PGPZ will work to ensure Zcash is understood, represented, and defended in those discussions.

PGPZ’s work will center on three areas: participation in policy meetings, providing resources and support for the community and members, and building the PGPZ Alliance, described as an action-oriented working group made up of policy professionals and active advocates.
