Metaplanet CEO Simon Gerovich said the Japanese bitcoin treasury company views BTC Yield as its most important KPI and aims to maximize shareholders’ BTC Yield through capital allocation decisions. According to Foresight News, Gerovich said share buybacks could be an effective way to improve BTC Yield when the company’s modified net asset value (mNAV) is below 1, with the impact becoming more significant as mNAV declines.
He added that the company will continue to treat share repurchases as an important capital allocation option.
Gerovich said any actual buyback execution must strictly comply with insider trading regulations and monthly disclosure obligations, and the company will not comment on specific timing or circumstances before appropriate disclosures are made.
He also emphasized that the statement does not mean the company is currently conducting, or planning to conduct, share buybacks during any specific period.
