Electronic savings bonds have been included in the range of products eligible for purchase through China’s individual pension accounts starting in June.
According to Jin10, the change means residents who have joined the individual pension system can buy electronic savings bonds directly within their pension accounts.
Under the issuance schedule, the latest tranche of savings bonds for June is set to go on sale on June 10.
Several banks have already added bond-purchase access points in the individual pension sections of their mobile apps.
Residents can also visit bank branches with a bank card and identification documents to handle individual pension savings bond transactions at the counter.
