xAI has brought in an executive from SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet unit to lead the model training team for its Grok chatbot, according to an internal memo.
According to Jin10, Jack Garabedian, who has worked as an engineer on SpaceX’s Starlink program since 2021, is taking over leadership of xAI’s “human data team.”
The memo said the team includes hundreds of specialists who train Grok across fields ranging from finance to science. The group was previously led by a young engineer, Diego Pasini.
Pasini and Garabedian did not respond to requests for comment, and representatives for SpaceX and xAI also did not respond.
