Iran’s ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali said the Strait of Hormuz will remain open but under new conditions set by Iranian and Omani authorities, including transit fees. According to BeInCrypto, Jalali told Russia’s Izvestia on Monday that Iran and Oman provide services tied to the strait and would charge for them, without detailing the fee structure. The US has warned Oman not to join the effort, and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Oman’s ambassador denied any such plans. In April, Iran said it would charge oil tankers transit tolls in cryptocurrency, naming Bitcoin (BTC).
