SpaceX has been drawing market attention over potential IPO developments as demand rises for global satellite broadband, direct-to-cell satellite services, and AI computing.
According to Jin10, TrendForce said SpaceX has continued expanding its satellite broadband footprint while also moving into emerging areas including direct-to-cell connectivity, space-based AI computing, and space-based solar power (SBSP).
TrendForce said SpaceX has been strengthening vertical integration by expanding its in-house space AI computing chip facility, Terafab, and is pushing the low-Earth-orbit satellite industry from a communications-services model toward a computing-services phase.
TrendForce forecast that global satellite industry output value will reach $447 billion (4470亿美元) in 2027, with annual growth of 14%.
