U.S. President Donald Trump said he wants to suspend the federal gas tax, which costs drivers over 18 cents per gallon.
Bloomberg posted on X, citing comments from Sen. Armstrong (R-OK) in an interview with David Gura and Eena Ruffini, that the senator warned suspending the gasoline tax could have fiscal consequences.
Armstrong said that removing the gasoline tax would increase the deficit and could ultimately lead to higher taxes elsewhere.
