U.S. President Donald Trump said the United States would work with Iran to recover and destroy its highly enriched uranium if the two sides reach an agreement to end their three-month war. According to Odaily, Trump said that if no deal is reached, the United States would further weaken Iran’s military capabilities until U.S. forces can safely seize the nuclear materials on their own.

Trump also said the United States could track related activities through monitoring capabilities of its Space Force. He said the two sides are “very close” to signing an agreement, but he still wants Iran to make additional concessions on abandoning its nuclear program.

Trump said he wants to add a clause to prevent Iran from bypassing the agreement’s restrictions. He said the draft originally included language barring Iran from “developing” nuclear weapons, and he wants to add wording that would also prohibit “buying, procuring, or obtaining” them. Trump added that Iran was initially somewhat resistant to the change but later was not.
