A rETH holder lost about $4.5 million after 13 long-inactive wallets were hacked on June 5, according to on-chain monitoring by Specter. According to ChainCatcher, the victim detected abnormal activity in time and transferred the remaining assets worth about $4.7 million before the attacker could take further action.
The wallets had been dormant for years, making them a target for the attack. The attacker has begun laundering the stolen funds.
