Citrini analyst Jukan said in a post on X that a new FundaAI report indicates Nvidia’s NVL576 passive optical co-packaging technology has nearly doubled the density of optical engines and optical devices. According to Odaily, the report said the technology increases the 3.2T optical engine configuration per GPU from about 2.25 to about 4.0, a rise of 78%, and projects Rubin Ultra optical engine demand at about 12 million units.
Jukan added that the development may benefit direct suppliers of optical engines, including Lumentum, Coherent, and POET.
