Claude Opus 4.8 helped uncover a critical Zcash vulnerability that could have allowed unlimited minting of ZEC, according to developers.
According to NS3.AI, Zcash developers said there is currently no way to confirm whether any counterfeit ZEC was created as a result of the issue.
Shielded Labs said the flaw existed from Orchard’s activation in May 2022 until an emergency fix was implemented on June 1, 2026.
