Polymarket Chief Marketing Officer Matthew Modabber transferred more than $2.5 million to over 800 people via a personal PayPal account between 2025 年 1 月 and 2026 年 2 月, Politico reported.
According to Foresight News, about 24 identifiable influencers who received payments later posted Polymarket-related content on X more than 490 times in total, without disclosing paid promotional relationships.
The recipients included content creators with differing political viewpoints, including conservative and progressive voices. Some posts presented Polymarket odds data using news-style wording such as “BREAKING” and “NEW.”
A Polymarket spokesperson said working with influencers is part of the company’s routine business activities, but declined to comment on disclosure policies or questions about Modabber using a personal account for the transactions.
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires influencers to disclose “material connections” with brands they promote.
