Algeria has started building a pipeline that will stretch across the Sahara, reviving a project first proposed decades ago to supply natural gas from Nigeria and the wider region to customers in Europe.
Bloomberg posted on X, describing the start of construction on the long-discussed cross-Sahara pipeline intended to move gas northward through Algeria for export to European markets.
The project aims to connect Nigerian and regional gas supplies with European demand via infrastructure crossing the Sahara Desert.
