Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said three major memory chipmakers have been approved to supply the most advanced high-bandwidth products for Nvidia’s AI accelerators, allowing them to begin mass production and supply of HBM4.
According to Odaily, the decision covers SK Hynix, Samsung Electronics, and Micron Technology, enabling shipments of HBM4, the latest-generation chip used in Nvidia’s AI accelerators.
Huang made the remarks to reporters upon arriving in Seoul for a multi-day visit, saying all three suppliers had passed certification.
He added that the companies are already in production and competing to support Vera Rubin, Nvidia’s latest AI chip.
The three firms dominate the global market for computing memory semiconductors and have been competing for market share in this business.
