The World Semiconductor Trade Statistics (WSTS) organization raised its growth outlook for the global semiconductor industry in 2026 and 2027 in its 2026 spring forecast report.
According to Jin10, WSTS said the upgrade was supported by unusually strong market performance in late 2025 and early 2026.
WSTS forecast the global semiconductor market would post 90% year-on-year growth in 2026, with total market size reaching 1.51 trillion (1.51万亿美元).
The report said the accelerated expansion was mainly driven by the memory chip segment. WSTS forecast 2026 memory chip sales would rise by about 250% year on year, surpassing 800 billion.
WSTS said continued strong demand for AI infrastructure, high-bandwidth memory (HBM), and accelerated computing platforms remained the core drivers of growth across the semiconductor industry.
