LayerZero said it will upgrade the default path configuration for Endpoint v1 and v2 on July 9, a change expected to cause a brief interruption of about 15 minutes for applications using default settings.
According to Foresight News, the update will raise Endpoint v2’s default configuration from 2-of-2 to a minimum of 3-of-3, and switch Endpoint v1’s default library from ULNv2 to ULNv301.
LayerZero also said it will deprecate the relayer serving v1 (ULNv2) on August 3. Teams still using ULNv2 will need to re-pin to ULNv301, otherwise message delivery will stop.
On security clients, LayerZero said it will rename the TypeScript version of Gasolina to Aegis and introduce a Rust-based verification client called Veritas. The two clients will run in parallel to improve RPC consensus.
LayerZero added that it plans to upgrade all multisig thresholds to 5-of-7 in June and raise them further to 7-of-10 before the end of summer.
