Soybean losses from flooding in southern Brazil expected to be 2.71 million tonnes

Golden Ten Futures, June 4, according to foreign media reports, crop agency Emater said on Tuesday that the loss of soybeans caused by the recent floods in Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil is estimated at 2.71 million tons. Emater said in a statement that it expects Rio Grande do Sul to produce 19.53 million tons of soybeans this year, lower than the forecast in March, due to storms and floods in the state in late April.
