About 10 victims plan to file civil claims against JPEX, according to Ng Kit-chuang, a member of the Hong Kong Legislative Council. If the claims are successful, the compensation amount will be referred to the amount of the parties' "deposit". Ng Kit-chuang added that the "Web3 and Virtual Asset Development Subcommittee" requested last year will hold its first meeting. He hopes that in the next 12 months, he can review any loopholes in the existing regulations and study optimization measures to ensure the sustainable and responsible development of Hong Kong's virtual asset industry, and discuss how to strengthen the protection of relevant investors and improve market confidence.
